Le Printemps de Septembre : Around a civic ritual

On Saturday, September the 23rd , an event organized by the Printemps de Septembre, called And so on: civic ritual took place at the Port Viguerie in Toulouse. The students of the DTMS of Urbain Vitry worked on the bulding and the setting of the dresser, the central piece of the banquet.
The aim of the project was to renact in a poetical way the banquet as a French civic ritual, gathering a lot of people from different places and different social classes. Neighborhood associations worked on different elements of the dinner or setting, as vegetal tunning cars or merely preparing food.
Our role was to build a dresser designed by Mohamed Bourouissa, composed of a circular stage with masts with furniture on, workplans and a scafolding. Others pieces of furniture were set all around it to create an eating area. During the performance, we worked with a team of waiters and cookers, and manipulated "trains of furniture" we had build before to bring the plates to the public.
It was a great moment of sharing and gathering.
